The Save Summit Woods group found that changing the identification of Summit Woods from a nature reserve to a dog park would threaten the protection of the bird sanctuary, natural spaces and public safety. The City of Westmount did not follow through on its previous commitments when it purchased Summit Woods in 1940. In this ongoing case, the Legacy Fund will support the group in the next steps to be taken.
