With over twenty years of experience in public leadership, law, and sustainable urban governance, Paola Hawa has dedicated her career to building bridges between governments, communities, and industry to advance socially responsible and environmentally sound outcomes. As Mayor of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Paola led intergovernmental partnerships that generated more than $50 million in funding for infrastructure renewal and environmental restoration and protection. Throughout her career, Paola has worked with various communities, government agencies, and private-sector partners to foster sustainable land use and protect biodiversity in complex urban contexts. Her collaborative, transparent, and pragmatic approach ensures both social acceptability and long-term project viability. A member of the Barreau du Québec and the Massachusetts Bar, Paola holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations and both Civil Law and Common Law degrees from McGill University. She brings a deep understanding of Québec’s political and regulatory environment, bilingual communication skills, and a steadfast commitment to sustainable development, environmental stewardship, citizen engagement, and the democratization of access to nature.
