According to the results of a survey conducted by the organization Volonté de faire in November 2022, an initiative of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) Foundation, the number of people in Canada who have arranged for a charitable bequest in their will rose from 5% in 2019 to 8% in 2022. The survey also found that this increase is due to greater awareness—people want to support causes that matter to them.
Did you know that you can use your will to make a donation to an environmental organization like the Legacy Fund for the Environment? In doing so, you help fund various projects that protect natural habitats and biodiversity.
By including the Legacy Fund for the Environment in your will, you support a cause you care about and extend your commitment to a healthy planet as a legacy for future generations. Your bequest becomes tangible support through our funding of a variety of projects to protect natural habitats and biodiversity.
To help estimate your charitable bequest, Volonté de faire has created a calculator that allows you to choose the percentage you wish to leave to a charity. When you make a bequest, you receive a tax credit that can help reduce your tax bill.
